Mending Relationships In Communities Workshop

This powerful experiential  event will provide an extensive introduction to the concept of intergenerational trauma due to Colonization and the Boarding/Residential Schools. This workshop will help inform understanding of the collective trauma that has impacted Indigenous peoples’ for generations throughout US and Canadian history. Its' aim is to offer participants a deeper understanding of the many factors surrounding intergenerational trauma,  and the underlying psychological, inherent behaviors and historical context that inhabits Indigenous peoples’ lives historically and in the present. As a result of completing the workshop, individuals will be better prepared to effectively communicate, educate, assist and empower the Indigenous Peoples of their  communities. These are the first steps to understanding the trauma and begin the journey of healing.

Presented by Cherokee Brown, born and raised in Wyoming, a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, representing the Wind River Indian Reservation. A loving mother of Six beautiful children & Four beautiful grandchildren. Dedicated to honoring her ancestors by bringing back an old message to have a happy and safe family/community. She is the Director of Operation on the Wind River Indian Reservation for Wind River Community Alliance, a certified historical trauma recovery specialist, and certified facilitator of the Native American Fatherhood and Families Association Fatherhood/ Motherhood Sacred curriculum, workshop facilitator, and speaker.
